Alternate Cambrian Scenario

One project that I am very proud of that I ran out of steam for writing descriptions of, is my alternate Cambrian explosion project. Here, instead of molluscs, arthropods, and chordates taking over and becoming dominant, we see different groups take hold, the Priapulida, Kinonrhyncha, Loricifera and Rotifers. These forms eventually come to look very little like their ancestors, and take on myriad forms. I will be posting these sections very soon, with many pictures, so stay tuned.

The many Sophonts of "Fellow Tetrapod"...

 For a couple of years now, I have been collaborating with the fantastic Sci-fi author, Daniel Bensen. We have been working to assemble a sci-fi story about a scenario in which man has been contacted by a convention that spans the many alternate timelines of earth, those that have produced Sapient, civilization-building species, ones with advanced technology, ones like us. We call this story "Fellow Tetrapod". It was a long and arduous process, but it turned out that we collaborated very well. I provided my services as a conceptualist and creature designer, along with Dan who is also very proficient at this. I was also the main illustrator of chapter-headers. In order to promote this work of fiction, I am posting a rogues gallery of the many and varied persons which we meet in this book. Poseidon2910 - "Fish"

 In this next part, I will show you the fishes, for want of a better term, of this seeded ill-concieved world. - A small lamprey, that chews with its mouth-disc and tongue, to burrow into the hide of large marine vertebrates, in order to feed. It eventually forms and lives inside a gall-like growth that develops on and under the skin. A giant, streamlined pelagic lamprey, whose mouth is adapted to prey upon small fish and squid. A 3-inch-long pelagic Conodont, that shoals in large swarms, filtering plankton as food with its array of spiny teeth. A descendant of Bothriolepis that takes a niche similar to a seahorse, clinging to seaweed and coral. A large, short-bodied horn-shark, with large cranial horns made of dentine. A large, deep-sea shark that looks vaguely like a plesiosaur, due to its extended gill region.
